Redbull Outliers – Project Goals
Focussing heavily on Photoshop, this fictitious project has many elements supporting the overall look.
Objective
To remove branding from an existing photo, and re-master the photo to include required branding and logos to later be used in a large-scale banner.
The bulk of this project was done in Photoshop. The task was to carefully remove the existing logo and brand elements and leave a realistic background behind. Image one shows all of the logos that required removal. Image two shows a blank bike except for the optional vehicle number on the back panel. The final and larges image shows the bike with the supplied logo graphics re-added to the bike.
The removal process was painstaking but eye opening. Taking care to use only the smallest adjustments in places nobody would otherwise look, I was able to realistically revise the overall image to suit the requirements.
Finally, I used a multitude of blend modes, layer effects and more to create the desired effect shown on the banner on the following page.
Clean slate.
The original supplied photography was unusable with the logos in use, so the goal was to create a “clean slate” for new logos to be added. This image shows the revised logos that were added to the image to later be used in the promotional banner.

This image is the ‘clean’ view of the subject. All relevant logos were removed from the image to make way for new sponsors to be added.
Standing Tall
This is a portrait orientation version of the promotional banner. Using a multitude of blend modes, shadows and more, the composition is visually interesting and boasts all the required event info in a complementary hierarchy.
