Custom Prints

Creativity looks great on display. Over the years I have fielded many custom requests and here are just a few, on display.

Matchless Motorcycle

Historic plans turned into modern art.

The above technical drawings depict the inner workings of the 1950’s Matchless Motorcycle brought home by my family. This bike holds so much sentimental value I wanted to make sure it had a place on the walls. These technical drawings were scanned from an original repair manual and digitally aged to appear distressed.

Interestingly, on the right-side print, the graphics were all printed on separate pages. They were then stitched together to create a more visually interesting composition. The matchless logo was added to both prints to give a more polished feel.

1969 Triumph Spitfire

A classic style poster series for a classic car.

Created in a style much like the advertisements of old, this poster was the first in an ongoing series. Each year I research historic newspapers and ads to determine just how this print should feel. Overall my research has turned up humorous but solid results. The photography is original and the text copy was quoted from an old Spitfire ad.

This is the second poster in the series with a more simplified look. Having learned what the final produced print looks like behind a pane of frame glass, I elected to use more of the grey background with less text, ensuring a visual balance between elements.

Tropical Poster.

Originally designed in blue, this illustration was adapted to five main colours for use on various personal materials. Poster prints were created from the green and blue variations, while business and thank you cards were created from the other colour variations. This illustration has proved to be captivating and visually interesting to a wide audience.

I have an affinity for tropical design, and wanted to try my hand at creating something special for myself. Since the design was so strong I eventually incorporated it as a portion of my brand identity. It serves as a recognizable staple in my visual portfolio and helps the viewer associate the graphic with my name.
